The United States is facing a maternal mortality crisis, with 84% of pregnancy-related deaths estimated to be preventable. High-quality reproductive and perinatal health services improve health outcomes and can help states address this crisis.
NASHP supports states in developing and implementing maternal and family health policies, including coverage, payment, and care delivery policies impacting prenatal and postpartum care, doula and midwife services, home visiting, and access to contraception.
