The use of telehealth services has been on the rise in recent years due to new flexibilities that support access to care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telehealth services can also help states bolster their health care workforce and provide services in rural areas — but states must consider many factors as they develop long-term telehealth policies, including quality of care, cost, and health outcomes.
