Approximately 1 in 5 people in the U.S. are covered by Medicaid, which provides health coverage to people with low incomes, including children, parents, seniors, and people with disabilities. Medicaid is a strong focus for NASHP that touches every policy area. This includes supporting states’ efforts to improve coverage and care access in their Medicaid programs to meet the unique needs of their population.
