As NASHP’s Chief Operating Officer, Sinem (she/her) oversees NASHP’s infrastructure functions — finance, accounting, human resources, information technology, compliance, and administration. Sinem is passionate about building sustainable infrastructure and cultivating an equitable, innovative, and transparent culture in a mission-driven organization. Before joining NASHP in 2022, Sinem served as vice president of operations in Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO) and as head of business planning and analytics at the Institute of International Education (IIE). Sinem has worked for the World Bank, United Nations, Mercer HR Consulting, and other private sector organizations prior to her 15 years of experience with 501(c)3 organizations. Sinem was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. She has studied, worked, and lived in different countries. She has a bachelor’s degree from Bogazici University (Istanbul, Turkey) and a master’s degree from Yale University. She lives in Maryland with her family.
