Despite recent declines in overdose deaths nationally, overdose rates continue to rise across a number of states, communities, and demographic groups — highlighting the need for targeted interventions in communities hardest hit by the opioid crisis. Identifying and investing in local solutions are key to catalyzing change, and community-based organizations (CBOs) are critical partners for providing tailored substance use services and supports at the local level.
This webinar will explore some of the common barriers that CBOs face when competing for opioid settlement funding (and other state-administered grants), as well as highlight strategies in Massachusetts and South Carolina to enhance partnerships and lower barriers to funding for community-based partners working to reduce overdose deaths.

- Julia Newhall, Director of Opioid Abatement Strategy and Implementation, Massachusetts Department of Public Health
