With the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, many states are winding down COVID-19 vaccine mandates, with some states moving to limit the ability of public and private entities to require COVID-19 vaccinations as a condition of employment or access to goods and services.
Use the map below to find the status of individual states’ efforts to limit or enforce COVID-19 vaccine mandates for public and private entities, as well as actions that require public and private entities to provide exemptions for COVID-19 vaccine mandates. For the latest on state vaccine mandates in schools, view NASHP’s regularly updated map.
The exemption laws in the below chart are only focused on exemptions for COVID-19 vaccinations or broader exemptions required since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. For information on state exemption laws for other routine immunizations, please visit Immunize.org.
