An estimated forty percent of people in the United States have difficulty affording their prescription drugs, and one in five people take on debt or declare bankruptcy due to drug costs. Prescription Drug Affordability Boards (PDABs)—independent entities that review high-cost medications and, when appropriate, set upper payment limits on reimbursement—are an emerging strategy for state governments concerned about prescription drug costs and access.
Join the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) for a virtual webinar on PDABs’ role in addressing the prescription drug affordability crisis. Speakers will discuss:
- Why states are increasingly turning to PDABs as a strategy to take on affordability challenges
- How PDABs can benefit patients, families, and the health system
- Lessons learned from existing PDABs
- Considerations for policymakers looking to implement similar solutions in their states
