Over 24 million consumers receive coverage through the health insurance marketplaces. Twenty-two states operate marketplaces, either as fully state-run entities or in partnership with the federal marketplace. Since 2011, NASHP has supported states with the operation of the marketplaces through the State Marketplace Network, a network that provides a platform for health insurance marketplace state staff and leaders to participate in peer-to-peer dialogue, discuss emerging issues, and share best practices.
