Sara Federman
Sara Federman joined NASHP in January of 2026 as Medicaid Policy Associate on the Cost, Coverage, and Value team. Her work currently focuses on supporting states in navigating the shifting federal and state Medicaid policy landscapes. Prior to joining NASHP, Sara was a Program Associate for the Policy team at the Commonwealth Fund, where she supported grantmaking, policy analysis, and research across a range of health policy topics. She also served as a Program Assistant for Public Health Preparedness for Seattle and King County, where she provided organizational and program management support to public health officials leading the county's COVID-19 response. Sara received an MPA from American University and a BA in psychology from Whitman College.
