Nia Denise Gooding

Nia Denise Gooding is a policy associate with NASHP's Behavioral, Population, and Public Health team. She works on projects related to health equity and disparities and community health worker policy. Prior to joining NASHP, Nia Denise was a Fulbright Scholar based in Kosovo, where she researched health system factors contributing to high cesarean section rates among mothers. She has also previously worked as an associate researcher at the Center on Health Insurance Reforms at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, where she analyzed insurance regulation, insurance markets, and consumers’ access to affordable, comprehensive coverage options. Nia Denise has also worked as a federal affairs intern at the National Association of Community Health Centers, where she focused on domestic safety net issues. In addition, she has previously worked on global health issues at Dartmouth College’s Nelson A. Rockefeller Center Policy Research Shop and John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding. Nia Denise earned her BA in Government from Dartmouth College.
