Smart Homes, Smart Health: Technologies that Empower Independence

Smart home technologies have the potential to improve community living for individuals with disabilities and older adults. At this session, officials explain how these technologies help increase independence, monitor health, lower costs, and improve health outcomes. A smart home researcher provides an overview of these resources and state officials discuss use of smart home technologies in Medicaid long-term services and support programs and how states, managed care plans, and providers are incorporating technology into various settings.
