Safe, stable, and affordable housing is necessary for people’s overall health and wellbeing. State leaders are working across sectors to increase access to affordable housing and related health, behavioral health, and social support needs for people experiencing homelessness, youth with unstable housing, and people with complex care and housing needs.
NASHP convenes the Health and Housing Institute, which supports cross-sector teams of state officials from Medicaid, housing, and behavioral health, corrections, and Veterans agencies to break down silos within states and better deploy resources to improve health and housing outcomes.
