Brushing Up on Innovations in State Oral Health Policy

State officials increasingly acknowledge that oral health is an integral part of overall health and achieving health equity. In this session, speakers discuss oral health-related policies designed to improve population health, lower costs, and provide better care. Iowa, California, and Kentucky officials discuss innovative approaches to improve the health of children and seniors, how they use health system transformation and innovation to improve children’s oral health, and how to deploy mid-level providers, such as dental therapists, to tackle oral health access issues.
